I would say don't lose any sleep over it - meaning that sometimes carbs or taps are rebuilt with the odd drop of leakage but as the seals swell up when in contact with the petrol overnight the problem usually sorts itself out.

Overflowing the carbs is a float valve issue, even if you leave it on 'prime' it shouldn't do that. Not neccessarily defective, maybe even just something that has made it's way past the fuel strainer guaze. An inline filter is well worth having.

Often no1 carb is worst as the crap settles to the bottom when it is left on it's side stand.

edit avatar changed for my other unfinsihed '81 project - got to have a red one!

Well I know it's not the carbs.

Took fuel lines off last night and woke up to a mess of fuel everywhere. Had to take the tank off and tilt it down and away from the petcock. Didn't have time to mess with it before work. Ugh.

noticed that it looks slightly different than my other GPz too

Dude, Nice bags, I'm really impressed with them. I love those rugged all weather look ones.
I know it isn't the same look, but I've went with the easy throw over bags www.vikingbags.com/motorcycle-luggage.htm and i'm not too happy with em. Wish I went the luggage rack route like you.

Well its been a while........

After a busy last few years, and a major knee surgery, I am finally able to ride again.

Both this and the other GPz (click here) are getting some things sorted to get back on the road in a few weeks.

Took both bikes out yesterday and washed em and started some slight disassembly (carbs and airbox) for some maintenance and cleaning.

Ill update these pages as soon as stuff starts happening!!
