I'm not familiar with the KZ550 forks, but on my 1000 I removed the upper spring and installed a small spacer like a lot of folks on here suggested. Pipes look good, nice work.

Do you mind if I ask where you got those handlebars? I've been looking for café style bars for my 550 but was unsure if they would look weird with the huge seat. Yours looks awesome so I'm going for it

Hope you get out on two soon buddy. Looks like a good project. Way back when I was a broke young Airman, I swapped a set of 6x9 speakers for a clapped out LTD440. Rode it all over for 3 years and in never let me down.

Couple speakers for a bike ain't a bad deal if you ask me! I'm starting to love these little bikes more and more.

First problem arose today. Jumped on the bike to move it and I twisted the throttle to see if the cable was good and free after some lubricating... . Started pouring gas out of the #2 overflow tube. Only happens after it sits a while and when you twist the throttle. I'm pretty rookie on carbs, and most search I pulled up were of no help!

Twisting the throttle should not really have much to do with it. But, if the bike was on the side stand for a while, then stood up, that can sometimes cause some overflow. It could be that the little vibration from twisting the throttle initiated the overflow. It's more common if the float valves are worn.

Idk what the problem is. Probably just need to order 4 kits and get these puppies rebuilt.

Also swapped over the master cylinder from the turbo bike today, because the factory one was trashed. I !!!CANNOT!!! get the damn brakes to bleed. Spent 2 hours on it tonight. I tried gravity, vacuum, pressure, nothing worked. The M\C will bench bleed just fine, but beyond that I have nothing.

Bad day for the 550.... so I just took pictures of it today. I did manage to take an inch out of her hind end ;)

Nice! Just picked up a KZ550 Ltd and wanted similar handlebars! Where are yours from?
