ColoPirate, where did you order your tank from? Is it metal? Looks fantastic!

What tank is that? I have been working on my LTD cafe build this spring and I'm still trying to find a good tank that will look better on my bike.

small update, i made the leather seat. I went to a local (littleton, co) fabric place and got some black leather. then for closed cell foam i went to big5 sporting goods and bought a camping sleeping pad for like 5 bucks, cut a few layers out of it and glued them together. so far it works good, but i might have to add to it.

So, finally got down to messing with the carbs, since I went with the pod filters I will have to replace the jets. Stock jetting was at 90 65, and I have been told to start with the main, so I am going to start around 130 and tweak from there. Right now the pods are the only change, still have the stock 4 into 2 exhaust, but I am in the mile high city, so elevation is a factor. Wish me luck, I will keep everyone posted best I can.

Side note, my buddy also works with a car wrap company, and is coming by tonight with some vinyl, similar color to what it is now, and we are going to wrap my bike, we will see how that goes as well.

So tonight i changed the main jets to 130 and gave it a spin. it seems to run good, i didnt notice any gas smell, but i am going to give it a little ride tomorrow and see if the spark plugs are dark and its running rich.

My friend came by and helped me out with a vinyl wrap for the bike, it wasnt easy but we got it on there. lots of heat from a heat gun, or hair dryer, and some stretching got it smooth for the most part. we had to make a couple cuts, i just have to figure out how i am going to cover them. here are some pics

one more, you can see a cut on the back side of the tank

Thanks Wayne, it was tough... probably could have used 1 or 2 other people, but we got it on there with only one or two blemishes. I think it looks good though, only problem is it makes my bondo work issues show...

I just recently did something similar. As to using Florist foam, thats what i ended up doing...i would not recommend it. it is nasty, itchy stuff when you're shaping.

That's too bad, it looks list it would be easier to work with that the insulation foam was. Has anyone else had similar problems?
