well started up just a min ago, seems like I left the petcock on and leaked gas on the ground, so I started it up to empty the carbs and noticed the grass underneath the headers was moving, needless to say it wasn't windy outside. The geniuses collapsed the downpipes in the middle. looks like the next upgrade is the exhaust Not sure how I wanna go with it.

you can can get a good deal on used 4 into 1 headers to run for now and then when you really know, go big on one if you see fit...i have gotten some really nice dent free---supertrapps-V&hines-and a jardine for 125-275 and all were in 9 outta 10 shape...

just watch auctions and wait till it is gonna run out...here is a perfect condition supertrapp that i got for a tad over 200....

these bikes waited decades to fall into deserving hands,,,a few months or even yrs is nothing at this point...i'm just glad it (your MKII)did not get bought up by some local yocal and then finished off for the recycling bin...

i have one to ride and the others to daydream about untill i get the old ass in gear....i am supposed to be out working on the MKII now...check this situation out for a bummer

turns out the cottage next doors tenants flaked and the place is up on c-list again...no fun working in my shop on that side of the place... with turd punchers wandering around.....F'ing sucks too..been hearing cars creep up and down our gravel easeway now for two days..there is one out there now just sitting that i just heard pull up....yesterday some gal and a dog drove in on a burned tire with cords showing to poke around..rock popped the treads and she wandered around on the property for an hour till i woke up and changed her tire....

I feel you on the having to wait...oh well.....

it'll be there when your ready...

i am all set on mine to roll it out and bench it and start shooting build pics...now this shit...oh well...rant over...peace craig...you still scored a great bike!!!!

It took me 9 months of buying parts on payday to get my Z1 back on the road after 13 years. In between paychecks I did the stuff that was cheap to do like cleaning and polishing, repack bearings with grease etc.

When you finally put her to the pavement you will have one big ass smile on your face. :) Thats when it all pays off. Good Luck and have fun with it

tried to clean the grease off the motor while ago and after washing it down let it sit and tried to start it back up it ran rough and wouldn't idle up, tried to rev it a little and the throttle cable snapped :( got a new one one the way. shouldn't take too long to fix.

Just keep plugging away at it as you get the extra money. You'll get there in time. I'd love to sore a MKII for another project bike.

Well ran the numbers on parts from Z1 Enterprises and my local bike shop and i'm looking at a little over $700 to get this thing really road worthy. Not counting taking it to a mechanic when I screw something up :P
