My KZ1000 tank didn't have a nipple on the tank... Had to purchase the Pingle threaded block off plate then use a Pingle petcock with a threaded nipple...

Z1 has the plates as well as other locations... APE for example. ;)

"if there is not enough material to die the threads"...

Ok, we know your feeling the "I'm a dumbass, look at what I did pain" but being real hard to cross thread, I would think only a few mm of thread would have been damaged, not the whole nipple... :S

Otherwise, how the hell did you even get this petcock on for this would have been extremely tight and hard to turn to remove all material of that nipple....

You must be one strong ass sonsabitch....

How about a nice clean zoomed in image of that nipple...
Maybe someone will come up with an idea that can suit your situation....

I believe the Pingle is NPT (National Pipe Thread) so it is a tapering thread. Depending how far you stripped the threads I would think it's ok. I don't think you can use regular metric taps and die's.

Are the threads OK on the backside of the plate? You can sometimes use cutting fluid and retap the mangled ones going the opposite direction. Depends if you have enough metal/threads to work with. I've used this method before and works pretty good, I cross-threaded a tapped bolt hole on my truck bellhousing and had @ 3 litters of kittens..... all worked out though. Doug
