Yes it does.I've seen them painted other colors and with different stripes and stuff, but it just doesn't look as good. I also have an 84 GPz1100 that I will take a picture of them side by side someday soon. Then you will really be able to see how much better the turbo looks.
Heres the tank with the paint mask removed.

I had a ZX1100A1 new in '83 in red, they never did it for me in silver. I'm on the lookout for another 1100 next year.
My painter did away with the AFE decals for the tank and painted it on too. The finished article is awesome, tried to post some pics of mine but I'm struggling!!

My 84 1100 has fresh paint also in red with the painted on stripes. The guy I bought it from is a custom bike painter and wasn't finished with the tank and front fender when I picked the bike up. He called today and told me he is clear coating the rest of the parts today and will deliver them tomorrow. So maybe tomorrow I'll get that side by side pic.
I also just ran into a problem that may delay the completion of this painting project on the turbo. My computer that I use for the vinyl cutter just gave me a BIOS Mem error when I turned it on to work on the painting masks. It took 8 tries to get it to boot up all the way and load windows.I was able to copy all of my files. But that is the only computer I have that has a serial port to hook the vinyl cutter to.

Luckily my mom kept her old Gateway computer that has a serial port. She gave it to me and I have it hooked up and working now. The weather is suppose to be cooler and rainy for the next couple of days, so I'll use that time to get the rest of my paint masks finished and cut out.If the weather is good this weekend I may be able to do the rest of the painting.

I got all of the paint masks done today...well...except for the little "kawasaki" one on the front of the fairing.I'm not to worried about that one.

The weather was nice today, but not nice enough to do all the painting I wanted to get done.I only painted one piece and the clearcoat wasn't working out very well. The temp just wasn't high enough, so I called it quits before I messed something up. I put the tank back on and went for a little spin to see how it ran.I should have put a little more gas in it because it died and I had to push it for about 2 blocks.I put another gallon in it and took off again.I rode about 2 miles around the neighborhood and the pipes were still smoking.I checked it out and found oil coming out of the ignition pickup cover. My first thought was that new crank seal is leaking, but it turned out to be the oil pressure switch was leaking.I removed it and plugged the hole with a used Toyota water temp switch I had laying around and went for another ride.I put a total of 10 miles on it today around the neighborhood.I couldn't resist cranking that throttle open a few times to feel that boost. man that feels good.I fixed a few issues, retightened a few things, adjusted some stuff and found a few more problems.I have one front caliper that is stuck, the brake pads on the front are almost gone, the forks must not have any oil left in them and I really need to replace that speedo drive so I know how fast I'm going. I already have the new fork seals and speedo drive. I guess I will fix all of that at once.Heres a pic of what I painted today.

Here is a pic of the tank that was on the bike when I bought it.

I ordered a new oil pressure switch, front brake pads and a RH mirror this morning.Should be here tomorrow.I checked into my front brake problem today.Turned out to not be the caliper. One of the hoses for the left front is clogged.Couldn't get it unplugged so I robbed one off of the 1100.Now both are working. Also got an email telling me my new helmet I ordered a week ago just shipped today.

I installed the mirror that came in today. The rain stopped for awhile so I took it over and got the safety inspection done. Now its all legal.Still need to do some work on it before I ride it very far.
