I found another 77 1000 on C/L for $200. I haven't seen it or any pics but for that price I figure I can't lose. I'll post pics when I get them.

It sounds like the kid is in high school. It also needs a seat, tank, carbs and has a electrical issue. I have all that stuff laying around so I should be able to flip it. Or maybe I'll like it enough to leave it alone.

GLuck with her. I went yesterday to pick up a 78 650 that looked to be pretty good in the cl pics. Nice Mooondust example and he only wanted 150. Whew! It was a kid and the way he slowly led us to the garage was giving me a bad feeling. Sure enough there sat...er...squatted a 78 650! Pings and dents and missing fins and rust....OMG the rust! Everything was pitted to Grand Canyon depths or showing daylight. I'll say one thing he made no attempt to hide anything. But for a buck and a half I guess who would. It did have a rack and bar on it but I think it would dissolve if put into a stripper tank. Said 55,000 on the OD but the cable was missing. I was bummed out the rest of the day after seeing the old girl and having to pronounce her gone. There should be a PETA for bikes. Sorry for the hijack but I do feel better now. Like I said GLuck with yours. ;)

Well I wasn't able to pick it up. The kids said he had to go out of town. Sounds like he may be flaking on me. He lives about 2 1/2 hours away so I hope he doesn't screw with me. We'll see what happens this weekend.

Well I figured out why the guy was blowing me off. He posted another ad wanting to trade 5 broke down parts bikes for an ATV. He put pics up with this ad and this is what I saw.

Now I think I'll call him from my sons phone and offer $100. I need the forks, triple clamps and motor. I would probably keep the wheels around just in case. The frame is junk but It looks like the rest ok.
