I took it to a friend’s shop to use his glass bead machine, while I was there he said he know a guy that used to race and had a engine that was all built up but not used just sitting around in the corner of his shop with a bunch of other engines. I went to look at it and bought it on the spot for $200, it’s a 77 1000 with a 1075 kit and a welded crank, it also came with a set of Mikuni pumper carbs.

Looks like a 86-88 Gsxr1100 by the length. The same arm I have on my 1000. They're alloy and about 1.5" or so longer than a stock Kz arm. All I had to do on mine to mount it was grind some thickness from the brake pedal mount so that the swingarm could swing freely. The pivot bolts are the same size so the arm just slots in and bolts up with no mods except the brake pivot issue.

Sorry if I stepped on your toes, Texas.

The swingarm in the picture is from a 1989 GSXR, but I'm not using that one I'm going to use a 2003 ZRX 1200 swingarm. The 1995 ZX7 wheel set I have wouldn't fix that swingarm with out modifying the sprocket carrier to much.

Doug,
Please feel free to answer any questions, that's what this is all about. I'm just learning how to do all this from everyone in KZR, I've never built a bike before.

Thanks,

Dirk

Doug, I would like to know how wide is your back rim because I was going to have to cut alot off my sprocket carrier to center the wheel. My rim is 5.5 by 17 with a 180 by 55 tire.

Here are the pics i took of the 1000. I degreased it and painted it black right after I got it. The pics aren't that great, I was at a friends shop doing the work because he has a left and I only had my cell phone with me.
