also make sure your frame is straight before beefing it up too much its really hard to fix later B)

mine is overkill as far as bracing goes, but your ltd frame was a lot stronger than my z1 so you should need as much work on yours.

my frame was around 1/4" out of wack when we checked it before raking/bracing much of which im sure was caused by former fascination with wheelies ! the tubing on the newer frames is quite a bit stiffer, ive got a couple 79-80 ltd frames like yours someplace that are much stouter than a z1 even in stock form.B)

for a quick check of steering head/backbone area i put a torpedo level on top of lower 2 backbone tubes to level frame ,then i lay another one on top of steering head to get an idea if its in the ball park.when in doubt stick it in a frame jig to make sure, thats why i took mine to topeka to have it checked since the 2 levels werent agreeing with each other close enough to suit me.B)

hey jordan i mounted my coils out in front under neath the steering head .i just added a small plate across the front of the down tubes and mounted them there they get lots of cool air going across them and they are easy to get to if you any problems with you ignition system

i know how you feel man. i basically have to wait until the riding season to put my bike back in the school's shop to continue working on it and now that im married it's increasingly harder to bring bike parts inside to work on.
