I tried the green pads and they dont do much too soft. found some grey ones at the local industrial supplier that worked the best fairly aggressive. none of the ones I tried lasted more than 5 minuts but they get down and clean pretty fast so I think I used about 15 pads to do the whole thing.

Well finally it could be mistaken for almostabike.

Sure feels good to get the motor in the frame. Not that its that tough but feels like your making progress.

Just got it down off the motor stand and set it on the jack. Then poised the frame on some 4 x 4's and rags wrapped the frame in some rag protection for the paint. then slid it onto the frame. Had to take off the rocker cover, exhaust studs and oil filter cover, was plenty of room then. and even did it by myself. No I am not a weightlifter either, but it was not too bad.

Now I am getting busy with the wire harness, using the old one as a template I made a wire board. Now its just a matter of copying whats there and make it new.

I found a supply for a new one AFTER I got all the wire and connectors so it was too late for this one, but it will be an experience anyway.
