Parts we have in common

OK, here's the skinny. I have a 35 year old Z1 that has a few issues. First and foremost being brakes. I'm curious what parts from other bikes are the same as the Z1. Thanks.

As to brake components, am thinking 1973 Z1 through 1975 and 1976 US model KZ900 except B1/LTD, are very similar if not identical, with single front disc and rear drum. Would compare part numbers to be certain.

Most parts are still available to restore these brake components, such as overhaul kits for master cylinders and calipers, lines, fittings, etc.

The Kaw website shows your brake shoes as being part#41048-016 and the were used on the following bikes.

H2 (Mach IV) (1972)
H2-B (Mach IV) (1974)
H2-C (Mach IV) (1975)
KZ900-A4 (1976)
KZ900-A5 (1977)
Z1 (Z1) (1973)
Z1-A (Z1) (1974)
Z1-B (Z1) (1975)

Should be easy to find, I'm sure there are any number of aftermarket suppliers. Good place to check would be Z-1 ent.

thanks. I'm really wondering if i can find a new master cyclinder for the front brakes. Mine broke the other day.
