When the paint was drying, I cleaned... I love detailing mist.

Tank: Scuffed.

I wet-sanded a bit, as under close investigation the rattle-can paint looked like the pock-marked surface of the moon. Sure, it passes the 'Six Foot Test,' in which it looks good to drunk girls from six feet away at night, but I felt the urge to straighten it out a bit.

A swipe with a wet rag gives a preview of how it will look with the clear coat... Lots of work left here.

This is an extreme closeup of the sidewall of my rear tire. At first glance it appeared okay, but with the image enhanced I at once knew that this tire had seen its last day.

I walked into the garage tonight; she waited there for me (a romantic sight)

She's starting to look beautiful, I see more than just a skeleton of a motorcycle now.

The rims are out being fitted with long-awaited fresh rubber. Thanks to Gary at Parts Place in Negaunee for being reasonable with all of my requests.

The partitioned package of points piqued my interest;
high voltage...

Maybe not a Hayabusa but far, far from revolting.

I can still get these after 30 years.. Cool

Here's the place where the points go. The points partition. I prepared the workspace and washed my hands until they felt pickled.

This is a bad point. On the other side, there is a tiny mountain in the metal about equal to this pit. I suppose it's high voltage, so it acts like a tiny welder over time.

Funny that the points got this bad... The last fella had put $350 into the Jardine Exaust..

After installing the new points I took a *CLEAN**CLEAN**CLEAN**CLEAN**CLEAN**CLEAN**CLEAN* piece of paper and dressed the points like this:

1) Open points
2) Insert Paper
3) Fwwwiiisk
4) Repeated until I got really bored
