I didn't really need a new project but this frame kit fell into my garage and I couldn't say no..
I have just got a (New, never been assembled) 28 year old Martin frame kit for a z900/z1000 motor. The previous owner imported it, then put it in his workshop and went on a overseas trip, has never put a motor in the kit. It is new.
Does anyone know of the Martins history. Any quirks I should be aware of? Any thing I should watch out for?
I have a few Z1000 engines I could fit, depends how much I want to modify or hot up the motor. I would appreciatew anyones input
I found this picture on net of a finished one. Will post progress photos as I go.
Regards

Hey Pete, welcome to the forum, sounds like a wicked score with the MotoMartin. I don't have much knowledge on them but there was one (black tank & bodywork)for sale on E-Bay a year or two ago. It was turbocharged and was putting out some serious numbers. I really love the looks of these bikes. Do you have any pics? Doug :)

Here we go. Frame is chromed steel. De-carbon rear shock, Marzzochi forks, Brembo brakes, Martin cast mag wheels. And that fiberglass tank/seat combo.[/img]
Tried to post picture but size too big. Will get this right one day.:S

I uploaded 1/2 a picture into gallery...(Moto Martin) Will take some photos with camera set to lower resolution, and post as soon as possible. Frame now totally dismanted to repair rust and check shocks etc for storage damage. Progressing slowly due to 1. low finance available. 2. want to decide what I want to do with her before I "Rip, S.it and bust.

Well, we will be looking forward to your posts. Extremely rare and cool bike you have.

My advice: go nuts! Do what you wanna do...it's just a bike, but it's YOUR bike.

Wow that IS a beautiful project.... great score! Are you sure the frame is chrome plated? Could it possibly be nickel plated instead? Either way the frame design on your bike is wicked, as Bad Kaw mentioned keep us posted B) . Doug

Sounds Like a great project.

For pictures, you could always create an account on www.imageshack.us it will allow you to change the size of the picture befor uploading it, or even upload it in it's full size, then you can use the "thumbnail: code to display a thumbnail of your pic that can be clicked on to show full size, like this.
