It should cost you less money to just add one to the front, less work to change as well.B) BTW nice job on the seat recover, looks factory and it's not often you see that. The rear wheel going back to black looks good as well.

Presumably your front sprocket is still a stock 16 tooth so adding a 17 tooth works just fine as there is enough clearance between the chain and the chain guard. Another advantage is that you'll notice much less difference in your chain adjusters by raising the front one tooth.

As a rule of thumb, one up on the front is equal three lower on the rear.

The guy did a real nice job on the seat. It's quality marine grade naugahyde (spell?). The cost was a total of $50 CAD. Sweet price. Considering another place wanted $130 CAD.
