My KZ1000 project... was created by galaxian
Hi all just thought it was about time i post some pics of the current project. She started life as a 77 kz1000. SO far 96 zx7r front end, zx9r wheels, zrx1200 swingarm, koni shocks, and a Kerker with the almost open 2 1/2 baffle. These arent the most current pics she is almost finished and just needs her brakes bled. Oh yeah R1 rearsets with a gsxr shifter, black braided brake lines and a rear that is kevlar.

Looking real nice Galaxian! Those ZX9 wheels look cool. What are you using for a headlight & gauges? Doug

Looks good! I like the front and rear.

I believe that's the first time I've ever seen a Kawasaki dip dot.
I've seen them for Suzukis and for Harleys everwhere, but that's cool.

what is a "dip dot"

Well the shock situation does need to be looked at but at the moment yes. The konis ride is superb but they are a touch high i totally agree.

what is a "dip dot"

It's the dealer emblem on your gas cap.

Harley has them at every dealer with the dealer name on them, and the harley engine has a small space cut out on the top of the oil dipstick were the emblem sits.
Hence the term dipdot.

I never see em at other dealers though.

The wheel is a 6 inch rim running a 180/50/17 or 40 cant remember. The chain is a 530, the front sprocket is a 17 tooth with a 5/8 offset and the rear wheel carrier was machined down by 1/2 inch but for some reason i cant remember either. I need to find my document where i took all my measurements before i machined the parts. The 180 tire is about as large as you can get with my application. There is about 1/16 of clearance between the chain and tire. If i had to do this over again i would just use the 5.5 inch wheel instead of the 6 it makes like that much easier. Tip for those doing a conversion: buy an entire front end from a bike and a rear end. I bought everything piece by piece and had to play the bearing and make each part fit the other game. Not only time consuming but costly. If you buy the entire front and or rear it has all the brackets and small pieces that you need.
