I cut off the rear peg mounts and the front reflector mounts. I'll be ordering the gusset kit next week and have the parts welded on. Then off to powder coat. LIME GREEN!

Looking good Don.

I need to get picks up of my detabbed and debracketed 900 frame.

Where are you ordering your frame brace kit from?

I think I'm gonna make my own using mild steel. I'm not worried about a couple extra pounds compared to chromoly tubing. And any bracing has to be better than none.

Keep us updated.

I'm going to order the kit from Klamo. I'm thinking maybe I should have my ex brother inlaw see if he can copy the parts and maybe sell them on ebay. :)

donthekawguy: I made my own frame brace kit on my '73 Z1-900. But on my '78 KZ1000 Stage III project bike, I used a Kosman Frame Kit along with a Kosman Engine Mounting Kit.

Looking good! Are you going to keep the rear turn signal/grab rail mounts? If not, now is the time to hack those off too!

I saw a kit recently and from Kosman and they have a HD motor mount kit too. I've had great luck with Klasmo and have ordered many times with no complaints other than the shipping:pinch: It also really hurts that our U.S. dollar is so weak against the Euro. If things were like they used to be we'd be getting a nice discount on Klasmo parts.

for kosman go to www.kosman.net and click on "catalog" and then "Kawasaki frame brace kit".

Oops I meant the Kosman kit. I'm still debating weather to keep the rear blinker mounts. hey are nice to have when I need to put the bike on the trailer. I guess I could get some of those soft straps and use the frame when it's on the trailer.

I cut the turn signal portion of that mount off but left the shock mount stud and front hole portion. That way I can still mount an LTD grab rail when I need it. Kind of hard to visualize but I think you'll get what I mean. Ultimately it's a chunk cut out. Need to weld up the edge when finished, smooth it out...
