operation bad kaw

i got the bike as a csr1000 with a vetter fairing, i then transformed it into a cool cruiser, i then built it into a death spitting machine

i started the re transformation in February with stripping the bike down and getting the frame blasted, i then tore the engine down (didn't split the cases) ported/polished the head with a dremel and sent the block and heads off to the machine shop to get new valve seals and have the seats ground.

i bought the 1170 kit from wiseco thru APE and ordered some good valve springs as well, had my machine shop press/bore/hone/install rings on the pistons, i had them also cut 2mm off of the bottom outside of the sleeve skirts to help them fit in my 1000 cases, i also had to hand file some flashing to assist them as well even though i never tried to fit them in without doing it, i washed the engine down and bathed it in oil to assist in removing shop dibre, i then carefully assembled the engine via the manual specs and some online specs (cam cap bolts) i then proceeded to shim it, i ended up with over 20 left over shims so i'm set for a while.

i modified a z-1 rear fender to work on my 80 and up frame, i then seen a ninjar fender on another members bike i knew i had to have so i modified one as well.

i found a nice extended swingarm on e-bay along with a new V+H exhaust system and i had a turndown fitted to compete with the harleys loudness and for just being badass in its own.

i then prepped all the bodywork and tank, that was a ****** because the primer wanted to lift on my sidecovers and the tank had plenty of dings in it, i then went to paint it and the base lifted, all because i wasn't using the recommended sealer.

i sprayed the bike in house of kolor planet green shimrin with a HOK urethane lime gold candy and HOK poly urethane clear with some of the blue-green chamelion dust in the first two coats.

i got some orange peel i have to wetsand and buff still.

she runs good, looks good (with exception of the old man seat) and HAULS ARSE!

i'd really like to thank all the folks here at kzrider for helping me out with my technical questions no matter how dumb some of them were :whistle: :silly:

i'm a noob at posting pics so i'll just have to reply with each.

i mounted an advanced auto parts truck/trailer LED taillight, its extreamly bright, and not a bad score for 20$

and a cheap handmade sheetmetal license plate bracket until i can think of something better

its hard to tell its metallic until your up close, too much candy and the clear kinda steals away from it.

headlight hit the fender after i gunned it hard on some freash asphault, DOH!:pinch:

yes! i pulled the car out when i painted it, and it made some loud screeching noises and smoke when i pulled it back in :evil:

i also plan on getting another tank and putting in an aircraft type fuel cap or something along those lines, hopefully getting a better seat too. and i NEED a better tire on the back, perhaps someday i can get a bigger rim and offset sprockets.
