This is the first KZ I've owned, and I have to say I am hooked already and I don't even have the bike tagged yet. Just thought I would share my progress so far...nothing to get too excited about, but I am happy with the change so far. Gotta start thinking about seat options though!

Pic of the bike right before I picked it up, then one from today:

Hmmm...don't know why the other pic didn't load. Here is the before picture:

Not bad man. Put your pics in the gallery. I am not sure if I ever would want a 1100, those things look really heavy. A 1000 is as high as I want to go. What do you think of your seat?

1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

Thanks kzwolfsr. It is definitely a heavy beast. If you can see the sliding glass door in the background of the first picture, that is my workroom. Its about six inches higher than the sidewalk. It pretty much takes every bit of my 150 lbs to get it up the ramp and in there, and I'm in excellent shape (military will do that to you!) Can't ride it in because I have to get one side of the handlebars in first then turn because its too wide :P

The seat... I like the way it feels, its incredibly comfortable, but I don't like the way it looks. Thinking about getting a second seat for around town and using the one that's on there now for longer rides. Maybe it'll grow on me though, who knows. ;)

Here is the latest. The seat is growing on me...might just stick with it. (Just try to ignore the Cub Cadet in the background!) ;)

What a difference!
I can't get enough of those before/after pics. You did some nice work.
That seat was real popular when your bike was new. I had one on a 78 650. So it's really almost a stock saddle.

Thanks. Yeah, I love to see people's before and after pics too. Really lets you know how much they've put into it.

Nice work on your bike!
