Why not get a $200 (on sale) TIG welder from Harbor Freight, a bunch of scrap aluminum, and just practice till you learn?

That's in my plans for the future :)

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. I am getting there. I havent had much time to work on her lately. I found myself rushing too much trying to get it done for the summer. I am going to just take my time and finish it the way I want it. Then I will have it perfect for next year.
I have a 81 750 CSR that my brother in law gave me. It was given to him and has sat around for years. It runs, barely, but with a little TLC it will be a nice way to get over my riding fix. That way I can focus on finishing this bike the right way.
Anyway, I havent been able to do much with the rearsets, our mill has been tied up for the past few weeks. Damn work is always getting in the way of my fun!

I have a program called artcam that you use with a cnc router (for wood) you can scan in a drawing and basically just tell it to go. it generates g-code and all. It's like autocad for super dummies!! does 3 axis and I think you can also get for 5 axis code. I would think it could work real well with a mill or you could use the 2d version that's set up for sign making with a waterjet?

I used the stock KZ bearings. I grinded the welds off the stock lower triple that hold the stem in. Then pressed the stem out. I then fabricated a adapter on a lathe to match the diameter of the GSXR's lower triple tree to the smaller diameter of the KZ stem. Then just pressed it all together. I also had to bore the hole in the top tree to match the KZ stem. Thats basically it. Fits perfect. If you have the right tools its pretty easy. That was the easiest way for me since I have a lathe and hydraulic press at my disposal.

suh-weeeeet. If I were doing this project I would try and fab up an undercarraige muffler (like on a Buell) just to be really different.

Normally, I'm not a big 750t fan (no offense, as there are some super 750ts built by site members; I'm more referring to 'stock' 750ts)...but I'm a big fan of this bike! Outstanding work! Please keep the pics comin'; this thing is great!

thanks for the kind words everyone. I am doing my best to get some time to work on it. Like I said it most likely will be winter finish. I will be sure to keep posting pics of my progress. I am still currently trying to finish up my quickie(yeah right) CSR project so I can get SOME riding in this year. I am pretty much done with it, so I hope to make some progress soon with this one.
