Excellent work! Can't wait to see it finished. I see you've shopping at the ZZR1200 Store in Quebec too.

The only problem with them is the don't like to answer e-mails or return calls.I had to get a second front rim from them, who ever peeled the tire off aped it off and put a slight bend in it....they did send another free of charge though..Nice gpz you got there ..

Post edited by: zzrmkII, at: 2007/04/16 13:05

Chris...I hear Ya Bud.When I first decided to do the mods,I was going to go with the ZZR parts from Them as well, and They WERE hard to get a reply out of!
I even phoned Them, but there was no answer.

So then I decided to start stock-piling the Rex parts instead.

That's good though, that They went good on the wheel.B)

I like the gauge-bracket,Bud...thanks for posting the pics.It DOES look nice and clean...right on.B)

o man some finaly has the same front end as me.....:P, o well i been wanting inverted forks any way.

nice job, the bike looks killer. as for the swingarm you are using isnt it a zrx1200 swing arm and not a zzr1200.

i used a 05 zzr1200 front end but had a custom swingarm made to stretch it a bit... other words i took the easy way out on that part.

i aslo have a mkii i need to get started on, keep us posted on progress.

heres a pic on how my front end turned out

"00" swing arm from a rex with a zzr 12 rear tire,190 tire. It all lines up..Should be 3/8 off set sprocket, have to clearnace the stock clutch cover and hopefully runing a 530 chain won't have a problem with the chain rubbing the frame.

Just found that out today myself. Installed my ZZR1100 front sprocket with 24mm offset and discovered it lines up dead on with the stock ZX9 sprocket. Unfortunatly, I followed info posted somewhere else and had my rear hub machined down 5mm - the offset was written up to be 11mm, so 6mm more on the front and 5mm off the rear. Nope. Now I have to find another rear hub or have a 5mm spacer ring made.
Here's a tip - if you need a spacer on the front sprocket, 1 1/8" bicycle headset spacers fit perfect and are available from 1mm up.

The sickening sound of...crash.Was in the house on the 'puter and heard crash go out in the garage and found the mkII on it's side, missed the other bikes thank god but bent the tail of the frame over .Good thing it was not lifted up on the lift. Now on Tuesday got to go to my buds shop and make a frame jig to get everything back in line.should've learned from those occ idiots STRAP them down!!.this is how far it got pushed over.Had to take it there anyways to remount the upper shock mounts, they have to go wider to match the swing arm and forward from stock..

And this is the amount of offset I have to address,we'll figure that out while I'm there all so,don't really want to mill the cush hub.Might have to go to a Kosman out board bearing support and loose the stock cover....

i thought i was going to have the same problem with the clearance issues. but you can get a 5/8 offset sprocket from schnitzracing or d&g chassis for a kz1000 set up to run a 530 chain. this is the route i had to take. i did have to remove the metal mesh plate inside the counter shaft sprocket cover and trim a little off of the lip on the inside of the cover. front and back sprockets lined up perfect. i did not have to use a bearing suport either. i would not suggest using any bigger offset than a 5/8 with out one tho.

Looking good man! It seams that the offset front and rear are dif. for dif wheels and years.I have a 76 and the counter sprocket shaft must be shorter than the later years (78 to 80?)I needed way more offset(about 1 ") but I decided to go with 5/8" and turn down the rear hub 3/8" to line them up.Most guys say u need a sprocket suport if you go more than 5/8" offset.I also found the wheel on the zrx was not centered in the swing arm so I had to shim it to center. This made it line up with the front wheel. Is the front wheel on your zrx centered on the axle or offset to fit the speedo gear?Maybee that is why the rear wheels are offset in the swingarm on the zrx? Looking forward to hearing how it all works out .Great job.B)

Found out a few things for those of you that want to use a ZRX swing arm,the dia for the the pivot bolt is way different then the stock kz,your gonna have to get it sleeved. The width of the swinger is wider than the kz chassis bungs, gonna have to grind some of the bung down and get spacers made to go in the swing arm.Once I get the spacers made I'll post the size you'll need to make it all work. The tail section is back straight again with the center line of the tire after my slip off the lift and the seat mounts line up nice, even works like it's supposed to with the key lock.In the process now of re-mounting the upper shock mounts, more forward and out by almost 1 7/8" to line up with the width of the rex swing arm, might have to move the bottom mounts ..we'll see ,one thing at a time.
