I gotta be honest. I don't like the fender. Just my opinion of course. It's your bike do whatever you like. :)

I say keep the fender but trim it down. It looks too big with respect to the other body pieces. If you could trim it so it has a shape close to the original Z1 fender but still uses the mounting points I think it would look alright. The ZRX11/12 have a fender that might give you an idea of the shape you would need.

FWIW.....I also believe that to be a wee bit too much fender. But too each their own. Beauty's in the eye of the beer-holder.

Hey, let me jump in here. The problem, IMHO:lol: , is that the fender doesn't match the rest of the bodywork. At the very least, a less dated tail section and less bulbious sidecovers would be necessary for the modern lines of the front fender (even cut down) to work. The bodywork is a package. I'd even go so far as to say that the tank needs to change, as well. Otherwise, go with no fender.

this is the bike that ebay built brother. rear wheel is 03 636 and front is 93 7r. its nearly complete. just gotta get a couple little things and fab a bracket for the gauges and the shocks. then tear it all apart and give it a dupont overhaul. im happy with how its turning out. not bad for a budget beater. including purchase of the bike i prolly have less than 1000 bux into it!
