A few Pics of my project so far... was created by Samwell
This is my first try with photobucket so may not be exactly as advertised.;)
It started out as this:
a somwhat neglected and poorly running 1978 KZ1000A2.
On the plus side thats a kerker pro sport exhaust on it.

Taking it down to the frame I found weirdness like this:

I guess they were trying to flow more air? A new and clean filter would have worked better!

I've polised that fork tubes, changed the springs to progressives suspoension units and of course fresh oil. There's also stainless steel lines from the local dealer, the "rare" splitter from ebay and a new master cylinder from Redline cycle.

I've had the frame powder coated, along with the headlight bucket and rear fender (the chrome was trashed). Those are new progrssive suspension shocks on there - from Z1 Enterprises.

I've also done the coil power mod and gained 0.75volts at the coils. There's a 20amp air horn that does 139dB (relayed of course). The steering head beerings are tapered rollers now.

Plans: combo reg/rect, new battery, 1075cc overbore, 8:1 comp, Mr. Turbo kit, crank work and ape studs to support aforementioned extra whiz.

Those are from EBC. I have a matching one on the rear. Not that my stock rotors were bad; I was just looking for something strong and lighter. Cosmetically I think they look good too!

EBC is the brand. Their website is: ebcbrakes.com. I bought mine from bikebandit.com. They were about $180 each I think. Yes they are bolted up to stock kz rims.

Small update to the project:

I've polished some of the engine covers. The clutch adjuster cover turned out nicley

A quick mock up of the rear end with the corbin gunfighter saddle and the old tail section. I'm not sure what to do with the paint. Metal flake green is leading the list right now.

I've powder coated the rear fender, I'm thinking about painting the front one (its chrome has failed too). I was going to powder it black too, but now I have one of those old fashion fork braces (the big metal loops) I think that in black against the painted fender would look nice.
