Here are some pics of my project. If you have any suggestions on where to begin please suggest. I would like to do a 1075cc, but wich carbs do I need, and wich 4 into 1 header? Thanks for all your advice.

From the looks of it I'd say strip it and see what you have. It looks to need a lot so don't plan on a overnight ride. Now where do you want to go. Restor, good bike or road ripper? Start making a list of whats good, whats bad, what you need. Then its what needs to be replaced and what can be reconditioned. How long has the head been off that engine? Engine and frame are the importo stuff to have. Ever done anything like this before? I for one could not fathom taking this on without at least one running bike so when I get flusterated I could blast off and chill! But with that said what a great challenge! I am envious of the adventure that awaits you!

The head has been off for a few years, some rust in the cylinders. I will have to have it resleeved for the larger bore. The frame is not orig. The bike was wrecked in '79 and a new frame bought from Kawi. I'm thinking, just a good running semi quick street bike.

might as well go down to a bare frame and engine cases ,that way you know what you are starting with suprises down the road really suck!;) if its an actual z1 frame id reccomend cheking every square inch and every weld on it,the early japanese built frames have really lousy welding and thin steering head gussets on them;) goodluck, happy wrenching
