Thanks guys!!!

Yeah, the 9R forks fit the ZX7R triples. I had to have the triples modified with a "J" stem welded in; first time Graves did it when I lived out in LA, on the ELR clone Brian Lewis of Extreme Cycle in Topeka, Kansas did it (equal quality on both ends...can't beat Brian's price, a great welder for very reasonable price). The 9R forks are 2.?? inches longer than the 7R forks; that small bit of length is crucial to ground clearence. Evidently everybody is figuring that out as the 9R forks are pulling more $ now than they have in the last 10 years on eBay (grrrrrrr!) ...and I still need another set!

The brakes on the PM wheels are over-sized (good eye Mark!) and I have PM calipers and billet machined adaptor plates that go with. Didn't take pics of them b/c they're annodized a totally gay shade of blue...even worse than the wheels. They look good in the photo...not in person. After I get them (the wheels) thru mock-up they're getting stripped and either annodized gold or powder-coated black. The reason I'm considering powder-coating them is that the spun aluminum PMs have a reputation for leaking air at the center seam...not that these do, but powder-coating them would solve that. Caveat: powder-coating will add a lot of weight to the wheels, but - relatively speaking - the wheels will still be a lot lighter than the ZX7/9 wheels...and a TON lighter than the original J/GPz wheels!

I've had this bike for over 15 years and I have to say that the inverted forks and 17" wheels are the single biggest improvement of any mod to any bike that I've ever had. I'm excited about the single-shock conversion, too; as all the mods I did altered the steering and inadvertantly added a teeny bit of rake to the thing...the top of the rear shock mount will be adjustable and I'll be able to affect rear-ride-height to a small (yet significant) degree. Once the handling is dialed in it'll be motor time.

A perpetual "work in progress", eh? ;)

You know, you'd think that with my background I could focus on something and get it done...but bikes are sooooo distracting. And I'd love to lie, but my GS1150ES is getting rear wheel spacers and then *poof!*, that pig is done. (it's in the shop right now, waiting for the custom spacers)
Burner 2: the ELR Clone is a swing arm (I have), rear wheel (I have), chain/sprockets/battery (don't have) and custom fairing mount away from the *poof!* scenario...
Burner 3: The J...

And I can't spin a wrench on nuthin' until school is out...no time.

But when school is out ===> Geeeeeeet the F outta the way!

rstnick: I know man! I'm doin' my best! And now that the weather has finally broken, this is killin' me! Stay tuned, when I get "time", the wrenches will fly. ;)
