Hi Everyone,

I'm a fairly new motorcycle owner here in Northern Colorado. Picked up a 1979 KZ400 Ltd with only 12k miles. I've always liked the Ltd's and while this is a relatively small bike, it's probably a good starter. Seems like it's in pretty good shape except having to replace the clutch and throttle cables.

I've had a great time riding the last couple of months, but had to winterize the bike this weekend. I'm looking forward to bringing it out this Spring and working on the fuel system. Even though I just got the factory manuals off of ebay, I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions for everyone, so bear with me.

Here's a picture from this weekend.

Thanks JM, she runs great....below 50 mph. Kind of does a little hesitation thing above that. That's why this Spring I plan on cleaning the tank, replacing fuel lines and (hopefully) rebuilding carbs. Fortunately there's a good "old bike" mechanic about two miles away in case I screw it up too badly.

I realize the fuel system might not be it, but figured it was the place to start.

Nice looking good starter bike. Start using the winter to get that thing fixed up for Spring, or even the ride in middle of the winter weather permitting.

Welcome to Kzrider Link14! Both me and Ron650 are in Colorado and when ever you need help on finding parts here you can look for me or him. Post some pics of your bike in the forum to be seen. Fort Collins always has snow or really cold temps doesn't it. I live in Denver, in the heart so I get away from it, lucky me!

That appears to be a very sweet ride you have there. I think they really look good. Something like that I might have to get for my boy...I think it would be a good starter for him too.
