I'm new to this website. I must say that it is full of great information. I had the fortune to stumble onto a 1977 Kz1000 A-1 in pretty good shape. It was ridden to my house and the title signed over to me for $1. Now I'm committed to restoring it to the best of my ability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

1. Buy a Factory manual (from eBay)...it will show you what you are up against...special tool needs...and ultimately put you in touch with your inner self:)

Welcome. Suggestions:
Put your bike specs and your location under your name in the signature lines; that helps everyone.
Post a photo or two of your $1 find!
Ride that bike- get to know it, clean it , maintain it- then you will know what it may or may not need. Enjoy it!

Yep I already have. The book is great. The bike is on a shelf with tags and bags. The frame is prepped and ready for paint. Need to replace steering head brngs along with a ton of other stuff. The carbs need an overhaul as well. Lots of things I will post under the correct topic.

I think you need to ride it to my house where I will promptly give you $2 for it.

You will double your money. Not a bad deal:laugh:
