Hey guys,

Just got my hands on my first bike today, it's a '78 KZ650SR. It's a little rough and needs a really good cleaning, but I'm planning on it being my Winter project and having it ready for Spring. There's a few leaks, missing bolts here and there, but I've already been ordering replacements and such. I figure it'll be fun to 'restore' (I use that term loosely) and hopefully it'll be a nice bike to learn on.

I know everyone likes pictures, but it's really not too pretty to look at right now, mainly because it's absolutely filthy from being trailered in the rain on some dirty roads ... but here's a shot I took today-

My dad has had his near-perfect '75 Z1B since he bought it new, so I've grown up with an affinity for this style of bike.

This has already been a really informative site for me ... looking forward to spending some time here.
