Clutch cable after I put new clutch basket in

So recently I picked up a kz 440 1981 Ltd I was doing some work inside and got it all sealed up and put the clutch cable back on and now the clutch cable won’t pull the pin it’s like the pin is already being pulled as far as it can go is there something I’m missing? 
I have tried adjusting it but I’m still unsure any help is appreciated I’m a very big noob with the bike but I’m trying my best 
edit: it’s a kz 440 A [LTD] (A2-A4) [LTD]
with the cable going in on that pin no steel ball (from taking it apart and reading diagrams)or clutch adjuster on the left 
Also if anyone has a service manual for this model let me know I keep finding the other ones that have the clutch going in the left with clutch adjuster on it and just to be clear the clutch basket is the one with the barring around and has the hole on top (2nd pic is my model of clutch basket)
