Oil leak

Hi everyone, new kz1000 owner so I’m excited to join the community. I have a small oil leak in front of my center stand that is starting to get annoying and was wondering if anyone could help me identify the issue and let me know how hard it is to fix. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I fixed your picture to be full size . Next time click the insert all tab to complete the installation .
I would guess the oil is coming from behind the  sprocket . . Take the outer cover off and have a peak  
No gaskets needed

Okay thanks I’ll remember that for next time, I took the cover off and I think you’re right it’s really dirty behind here. Can I just clean the sprocket and inside of the cover with brake clean and relube the chain? Or is there a different way to clean it up 

It looks like the drip is coming from higher up.  My guess would be one of the seals (not the gasket) in the transmission cover is worn enough to leak a bit.  You can see the seals in this screenshot.  #4, 10 & 11.  Most likely #4.

There is also an O ring seal on the out put shaft and it might be the culprit.  #31 in the second screen shot.

 



 

Looks like your shift shaft (11), out put shaft (19) or clutch push rod seal (20) is leaking.

 

4 seal points not including the gasket. 
C ShFt o-ring
C Shaft seal
Clutch push rod seal 
Shift shaft seal 
All can be replaced with out removing the cover. Shift shaft seal is a bit more challenging without removing the cover .
