Hi all
Just a quick update for reference in case somebody else needed. I have contacted Kawasaki owners club in the UK and they have provided for a reasonable charge a certificate for the date of manufacture based on  the sticker in the steering neck of motorcycle. I am now in the process to re-apply to DVLA for a title in my name. The DVLA only need the original title / registration in order to date the vehicle and assign it a date of first registration. This information can be obtained from:
  • The original title / registration, but you don’t have that
  • A letter from the manufacturer
  • A letter from an approved Owners Club for the manufacturer
Thank you everybody for your help. I will post photos if/when I get the title on my name and of course photos from my bike (work in progress at the moment)

Thanks for the update Peter, my V5 says "first date of registration" is 1991 which was when it was imported, however I want evidence of "date of manufacture" to take advantage of the Tax and MOT exemptions available for bikes older than 40 years (mine is an 1982)

Are you saying that DVLA could reject my application again even I've got the date of manufacture?

No not at all, my bike is UK registered with a valid V5. I just want to establish build date and original country of origin

Sounds like you have found a solution to the issue.  Not sure I will ever need to know how to do this, but there may well be others that will need to know.  Thanks for sharing the solution.
