I am in Europe (UK) Katit. The green 650 b1 in my footer I bought new out the crate in 77. When I bought it was the only 650 model available on the market worldwide. I still own it. B1 Was designated a 1977 model but production started mid 1976. B2 was a 1978 model with production started in Sept 1977.
So if op's bike is dated 76 it can only be a B1 with a B2 front end.

Confusing isn't it. In the European car world the next model year production starts in August. This is because they re-tool during the "summer shut down" (last two weeks of July )

That's why you can never get a sun lounger in July (UK joke aimed at our German friends - no offence intended  )

Welcome. Nice 650!
1977 and 1978 B and C models (B1, B2, C1 & C2) in Canada have front foot pegs mounted with only one bolt and no rubber mounting.
Canadian models were made in Japan.
