Hi all,
I have just joined your forum and am happy to be here and as you can see from the title I am another new member from the west coast of Ireland, I have been lucky enough to have just picked up an '82 Z1000j that has been sitting in a shed for the last number of years and is in need of some TLC (or maybe a lot of TLC). I hope you don't mind but I could be picking some brains from time to time as I am breathing life back into my new toy.

Welcome aboard. There are plenty of brains willing to be picked here.

Please post a picture or two to attract them. It is that old moth to a flame trick

What a great find! Is that an aftermarket swingarm?

Yes it's an alloy JMC aftermarket swingarm, I'm undecided what to do with it, I know they are hard to find these days. I might leave it on the bike or put a stock swingarm back on it.

Your swingarm looks very much like the one on mine except the chain adjuster looks to be a little different, what make is it ? I might leave mine where it is and do something with the exhaust to show it off a bit more. I hav'nt made any decisions on what to do with it only to take it down to the frame and start from there. All suggestions are welcome
