I just bought my 2nd GPZ so I thought I would say hi and show them. Live in eastern Canada "New Brunswick " bought a 1986 GPZ 550 "Canadian edition" 2 years ago. Looked gorgeous ran well but had a rattle. Got it cheap because of the rattle. Drove it the first 100km and oil everywhere. Rode it 17k all season just kept dumping oil into it. Held together so it impressed me. All the o rings went dry. Needless to say. The motor was apart to the crank and redone with all parts it needed replaced. Got it back this spring. Rode a glorious 3k kms and cylinder 2 and 3 decided to shear off header studs. Now the heads at a machinist and a 4 to 1 is on order. " im redoing all studs and putting a new exhaust on to be safe" Will never sell it. Ì love the old thing. NEXT STORY! Only 2 days ago. Ì just round tripped 1000kms and traded my 06 ex500r with 41k kms for a 85 gpz900r with 29k kms! The carbs need redone. Its a bit rough around the edges "character" the gsxr windshield and mirrors have to go though... I got it running . It's sat for 10+ years. Sorry for the rant. The saga continues. Peace out!
