Hello there fellos and fellas. picked up a 78 kz1000 the other day to add to my stable of half built bikes. I have to say this is the first older bike that Ive gotten excited about owning.

Here is how the KZ sits now. wadded up fork is kinda weird, i don't like the style so Im gonna straight that out. The lines of the tank, seat, and rear fairing made me want a kz650 the second I laid eyes on one, but the KZ1000 found me first.

See you round. Oh and red is greta color but Im not a football person so my intimate relations with GA are not connected to UGA.

Welcome waktaylor! Looks like a nice find. I see it was set up as a touring bike. You can easily source the turn signals and headlight. Other than that, it looks like it is all there. The exhaust almost looks like its from an LTD. You can pick up a new seat cover from ebay. There is a guy on there that does beautiful work and sells them for around $30. Keep us posted on your progress.

Looks like a good bike to resurrect .
What do you mean by wadded up fork?

Fork is bent. Wheel and fork legs were all twisted. Fender bent.
