Hi folks! was created by janwic
I'm a 43 year old Swede currently doing my 26th season as a biker. I've been browsing this forum for a couple of months now, and I find it both friendly and useful. As you can see from my profile I ride a '82 Spectre which I got as a trade-in when I sold my Valkyrie last summer. My intention was to sell it this year, but after riding it for a month I realized I like it too much. The bike was kind of lazy when I got it, but after lubing its ignition advancer it behaved like its 100 original hps had returned from wherever they had been dozing. They were very welcomed.

Pics? Well, I failed to find a single spot on my bike that wasn't corroded, until I found the circuitry in the speedo. So that's the only pic I've dare to make public. The rest of the bike qualifies for www.ratbike.org ...

But then, of course, there are a couple of beauties on that site. Have a look at this one: ratbike.org/docs/284.php

Finally got some pics...

Here's the beauty viewed from a distance:

Rust, rust everywhere:

My very personal way of dealing with disengaging the smog system (it turned out it was not faulty, are there any reasons for reconnecting it?):

And yes, that is original Ford clamps.

New copper washers for the head bolts didn't work, they leak oil anyway:

And the exhaust is noisy as hell, can you see if there is anything missing here?

Welcome to the forum janwic...I like the mud runnin' rat bike Kawasaki, at least I like it for humorous redneckish reasons (my relatives are from Kentucky!).
Nice closeups of your Spectre too. If everyone posted pictures like that on their eBay listings...mystery would be hitherto unknown!
