Welcome abaord, Rick.

It sounds like you're picking up a fine ride. Good job on taking the MSF. You're in for a great time.

Welcome to KZR.

I've seen several KZs in and around the Binghamton area. Oddly enough, it is rare to see any of those owners here at KZR.

Welcome to the club. :)

1983 for sure, only model year for the 750 twin belt drive and the last year of production for the 750 twin.

Sales were so slow you could buy a brand new leftover 83 model in 1985, but that was true of a lot of bikes.

Looking at that pic, the only obvious differences between the 82 and the 83 that I can see are the belt drive and the "LTD" on the sidecovers.

Ho... lee... crap. Nice specimen. Yep, '83 - belt.

I can't believe how clean it is for that many miles.

Yup- Found the registration (behind a neat little "door" in the seat) it's 1983.
I see the ride quirkiness though-compared to my sons Suki- maybe the slightly narrower handlebars- Man it's nice though. Of course I don't have much to compare it with- First bike for me!!

All I can find that needs attention is a frayed battery ground cable, the rubber washers in the taillights seem worn (stems wobble too easily)and it'll need a tire soon...big list huh- maybe I shouldn't have bought it!! Oh yeah- the other big problem...the cover to the manual is missing!!

Thanks for your positive comments!I'll try to keep her nice ... as a representative of the breed!

Yeah- I will keep you in mind! I'm really close to taking them off- except I might use the bike for getting to work- and I'm gonna need the luggage rack- maybe I'll lose the sissy bar-or try removing them and use a backpack and put the rack on for trips...

[edit]Just took it off- I'll see if I use it in the next few months.

If you put some lower handlebars on that bike, you might find it easier to handle and more comfortable to ride.
I have put superbike bars on two of the 750 twins I've had, and it made a large difference (read that as "GREAT" improvement) :)

Thanks- I'll definately consider that- I assume there are no cable issues if I try that? of course there is something to be said for pure stock- as in full restoration...???
