Another new guy... was created by Cubert
Hello everyone, I just picked up a Kz650 for the low low price of...wellll...free :P

I figured id take the time to introduce myself and show a couple pics. Right now im riding a 77 Suzuki GS 750 (which was also free)....

41000 miles and runs awesome, so i cant complain..

But the other day, I get offered this bike for free...and i just couldn't pass it up

Kid took it apart to stretch it, and got bored with. I have a box full of parts sitting in my car...so all i need now is a little motivation to get it together....

The wiring is a mess, but everything is at least labeled halfway decent. Im gonna have the frame re welded (welds look like a chimp with arthritis did it). Probably gonna do the frame flat black, and the tins army drab green. Then its weld in a seat pan, and figure out what the hell im gonna do with the exhaust.

Well..im open to comments and suggestions..so send it all my way...

First of all welcome to KZR. This bike just confirms my long held opinion that there should be a law that requires you to have an IQ of at least room temperature before you are allowed to purchase tools. I have to say that you are a heck of a lot more ambitious than I am to tackle this one, but the price was right. Looking at what you have there your bike started out as an 81 KZ650 CSR. This might help when you are trying to chase down needed parts. I picked one up a year ago and it is a great running little bike. I swapped mag wheels off a 550 LTD onto mine but otherwise it is stock. Here is a pic so you know what it started out looking like. Good luck whith your new project.

well im trying to be optimistic here;) it definately is gonna need some reworking from what i can see but the price is right.the 1st obvious problem i can see is the swingarm is going to try and rip that rear subframe off everytime it hits a bump, you definately need to do some serious gusseting where its tied into origional frame;)
