I am about to purchase a 1978 KZ1000 Z1-R and I have been looking for an informative site to join. I am anxious to start my new project bike.
I live in Orangeville Ontario, I have been riding now for 27 years. I build custom bikes as a hobby, I have won a few local bike shows with both Honda and HD bikes. I prefer the older classic bikes from the early eighties, I have owned many bikes from my first 1974 KH400 to a 82 CBX to my latest prject which was a VTX 1800.

Here are a couple of pics of the bike......trust me it won't look like this for very long......this will be a complete tear down to bare frame and then rebuild. I kinda like the green color but its just not what Iam looking for......

Slight change of plans.....I found a complete 1978 Z1R and have bought it. At least with a complete bike it will save me all kinds of time trying to work around someone elses mods. I will pick the bike up on Saturday.
