Just picked up a '78 KZ650 this fall. Bike seems to be in pretty good shape with 18500 on the clock. Bummer that I got it in late fall and was only able to ride around the block some until I had to put it up for the winter. Will have it out in force as soon as the snow goes away, though. Looking forward to sharing with everyone. This will be my first real street bike since I was riding around on the trails on my '72 Honda Cl175 when I was a teenager. Here is a pic, night shot though so not much detail to see.

Welcome aboard. You are in the right forum if you want information about your KZ!! I have been a member for a few months and have already learned more than I could have ever wished for. Make sure you put a signature on and tell everyone where you are from. And of course we all like picutures, so keep posting updates.

Welcome and nice bike you bought. Being your first street bike a training corse would be a good idea.

Welcome to KZR thanatos05. Nice to see another 650 around. She looks good, even in the dark pic. Give us some more in the daylight when you can. B)

Good looking bike!
Will it be a winter project? Do you plan to modify it, or keep it stock?

Thanks for the input and welcomes everyone. Not sure at this point how far I want to go with this bike. Kind of thinking about running it for a while then looking for something bigger, but then again I'm sure that it will be a lot of fun. Would like to make some mods. to it...some custom paint and a sissy bar just of the top of my head. Don't really have a place to work on it over the winter, so I will have all winter to do some research and try to come up with ideas. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done with their bikes.
