Hello,

I'm French, 30yo, I live in Paris and... I'm the owner of a '79 KZ1000ST since 10 days! :)

I bought the bike for 500 euros, which is really a low price for a bike in France.

Here's the bike and myself:

Last WE, I replaced some of its parts...

Unfortunately, I have some problems with the carburators, which I described in this thread . I hope those problems will be solved without too much hassle, because I don't know anything about carburetors for the moment!

I'm a member of the French "Club 900 Z1", whose website is www.club900Z1.com . Here are some pics I took during our meetings:

I also own a 2004 Kawasaki Z750, which is in #1 place of the sales chart of motorbikes in France since 2 years.

My other interests are:
- computers
- photography (see www.europephoto.com )
- making videos of motorbikes

Bye!
Nicolas.

Welcome Nicolas!

I have seen your photos on the Club 900 Z1 site. Nice pictures. If you have questions regarding your carbs, you could either post them on this site or go directly to www.wgcarbs.com In either case, wiredgeorge (a member here) should answer your questions. He probably knows as much about old-style Kawasaki carbs as anyone in North America. He also owns several KZ1000E models so he is truely familiar with your motorcycle.

Welcome to the site! I think my next bike will be a nearly new z750 or z1000 if I can find one for a good price in a few years. I love the look of them..kinda edgy, but still standard.

Nice bike btw!

Thanks for the comments about my pics. In fact, I also work as a photographer for motorbike magazines. I regularly take pictures of motorbikes races, such as the Tourist Trophy, MotoGP, Bol d'Or, 24H du Mans. I like taking pictures, and I like motorbikes, so 95% of my pics are pictures of motorbikes.

I read a lot of good comments about WiredGeorge here on this forum. He seems to do quite a good work on the carbs. I noticed he repairs carbs, and that would solve the problems I have right now with my ST carbs. Unfortunately, sending 4 carbs to the US from France wouldn't be easy. I'll post some messages on this forum if I get any problem while trying to clean them by myself.

Thanks Pyxen,

As regards to the new Z750, it's definitely an excellent motorbike. I bought one of the first ones, and I already drove 50.000km with it, without any problem. It's very reliable. It's as easy to drive as a bicycle and is really fun. I looooove it !!!

I know Kawasaki doesn't sell much of new Z in the US and in the UK, but here in France, we looooove that kind of motorbike!!!

In 2005, we had a drive, we were around 30 motorbikes, all new Z750 or Z1000. A DVD was made, and here is the trailer :)

Welcome Nicolas.

I love the '79s and z series bikes. Wish I had one.

Thanks for the links. It'd be great to be able to attend gatherings of Zs like those.

I also like photography but have never built on it.

Welcome to Happy 3 as well. How about some more pictures?
