Welcome aboard!
A cherry, huh? Sounds like your waiting paid off. Post a picture or two, and let us know where you're located.

To post a picture, you first need to re-size the image. Make it 540 x 450 pixels, or so. And don't use the preview when posting.

Very nice machine... ;)

Interesting detail in that right side shot - the stock 2 - 1 header replaced by an X pipe, back into the stock mufflers - an oddball combo - but what's really interesting, given a recent thread about X-pipes is that it looks like a harmonic set up between the sonic and thermal impulses - a standing wave - which turned the right side muffler blue.

Fascinating set of pics - and welcome to the board... B)

It kinda confused me on the blueing of the rt Muff. The previous owner thinks a critter crawled inside during its Pole barn storage and created a hot spot.
Can those mufflers be seperated,or the baffles removed 4 inspection I hope?

While it's always possible, I kind'a doubt that the bluing is critter-related. Otherwise, the previous owner (PO) would have noticed the smell of roast rodent somewhere along the line and made mention of it.

Rather, I'd be willing to bet that it was an oddball confluence of circumstances caused by the combination of the X header with the stock mufflers and exhaust cam timing.

There are two separate wavefronts induced by the combustion process, somewhat out of phase; the sonic pulse and the thermal pulse. My guess is that between the length/diameter of the X pipe and the stock (restrictive) baffles in the mufflers, the thermal pulse got stalled at the baffle input and created a hotspot, hence the blue.

There are other people around here that know more than I about 650 exhausts, but I'm thinking that those baffles are integral to the muffler, so it'd be like gutting a fish to extract 'em.

The good news is that it probably sounds kind of neat, depending on your taste in noise, probably runs fairly well when tuned up, and a bit of polishing compound followed up by some Simichrome or Blue Magic metal polish will probably get rid of the bluing... ;)

That could well be - what I know about 650s could just about fill a shot glass half way to the serving line...
