Probably my fault...I have taken her out "post winter salt" & tjethe tops of the head pipes are looking rough near the collector...hard to tell how bad it is till I get it off, but reaaly like the tuneabilty of these cans...plus it looks awesome, hopefully will stay that way...my buddy might want to slap it on his 82 550 ltd...currently has my oem 4-2 exhaust on it now...if he doesn't want to re-jet, (and it will clean up worth a damn!) I will offer it up here...thanx again, all!

I contacted Delkovic to see if they were going to make an exhaust for my Cooley Replica. I also said that early 80's KZ's would be a good market target for them. They got back to me very quickly with some optimistic news.

They said they made a pipe for the KZ1000, but I could only find one for the LTD models.

"Hello Glenn,
Thank you for your interest in our products. We do manufacture downpipes
and megaphone silencers for the KZ1000 and we have just come out with pipes
for the KZ650/750. The KZ650 pipes have arrived a few days ago so they may
not be live on our site. The KZ1000 pipes are on the website but probably
difficult to find because our website sucks. We will have a new website at
the end of March where you can actually find products. If you are looking
for something specific send me the bike model and year and I will let you
know what products we have available. We have a GS1000 system in the works
and the CB750 downpipes have just been approved for us to manufacture.
Regards
Janielle"

Thinking about one of these for my 750E. Looking for info as to how tightly they fit up under the engine and if the center stand can be retained.

BTW, I also have a 1000S (1980). I've got the shorty stocker pipes though and don't plan to change.;)

TONS of other places it should go, but I pulled the trigger on the Delkovic system! $ 319 delivered! Could not NOT do it! :woohoo:
(Now, about that Bell "Bullit" helmet.... ) :P Thanx again for the secretarial work, DoctoRot! Will give feed back as soon as is feasible...got big snow coming!

How's the system? Had a chance to install it yet? I'd love to see how it fits, including if it tucks tight against the sump. Photos would help (hint).

What did you use for the can Cory? Mine came with a megaphone. I have a older Vance and Hines and an old Kerker but both are painted and I get tired of touching them up. Gonna let my son use in his project and he can keep them painted up!

Hey Wayne,

I used a non-quiet core SS reverse megaphone from Cone Engineering fitted and TIG'd to the Delkevic mid pipe. Really didn't care for the can that comes with the full Delkevic system. Besides with all the frame changes I made, the mounts for stock locations are long gone.... Lol

I am not in love with the meg but will use it for now. Stock mounts won't work for me either but they didnt for any of the other pipes I had either . Might work on the bike tomorrow. Was going to go fishing but it is supposed to be sub zero temps so.....................
