the sleeves are thin but once they are all pressed together it no longer matters.
because they support each other.

if it makes you feel more cozy weld a few passes around the end of the kz stem and machine it down and leave a step on it so that your stem is one piece.

i have done a bunch by machining the stem in while still in the triple and using it as the bushing.

here is a triple getting the stem bored.

Hey Leon, ever get chippys in that outlet behind the lathe, they do make a light show before the breaker goes.

I know it's. probably just the angle, but it looks like you are just barely swingin' that triple clamp.

That´s hard core machining Leon !

Smart move mister...welding a few passes and machine it down feels oh la la... :woohoo:
But what´s with the "step" ? You meen as a section at the end that stops the stem from passing threw the triple ?

That's the only good reason I could think of for the new tamper resistant plugs they make us use now!

that one was a (thinwalled :P )sleeve i machine out and installed.

one time i bored a nut out, welded it on and then machine it down for the step.

les,
the outlet is out of the line of direct fire of the chips.it is actually behind the headstock.i have an electrician buddy that cringes when he see's my wiring job/ratsnest :pinch: .

i hope to be able to build a nicer shop before long, but i hate owing money so i kinda make do with what i can get right now.

once upon a time i had no shop at all.
so as much of a dump as my converted pole barn is,i am still very grateful for it  .

This is a great idea! :cheer: Then you just cut the other end flush with the lower tipple. Instant spacer!
