Hey guys I'm new to the motorcycle world this is my first bike. It ran when I got it then just stopped cranking over. It's a 83 kz750 I get power and all but the starter doesn't turn nor do I hear any relays and I'm not exactly sure how to test the solenoid switch for the starter. Any help will be appreciated thank you ahead of time :)

Are you pulling in the clutch lever when you try to start it?

Is the "kill" switch in the "RUN" position?

Have you checked the fuses?

Once more.........

When you tried to start the bike did you pull in the clutch lever (that's the handle thingy on the left side of the handlebars that you pull in to shift gears) ???

I saw that you checked the fuses, and I'm not trying to second guess you, but if you have the glass tube fuses you may want to check them again. Here's why - Sometimes the filament inside the tube is perfectly fine and not burned, but one end of the filament will break free from the end cap due to vibration and age. When this happens the fuse looks perfect even though it will not conduct electricity. This can be checked using a meter or by trying another fuse in its place. I had this happen to me a good distance from my home, and I stumbled onto the the solution (spare fuse) through pure desperation. Ed

A battery cable could have come loose at either end, or the battery could be fried.
