"As stated before, I got it running, but only with the charger on it, and then it was intermittent, like a bad connection somewhere? "...

Very possible bad connection but keep in mind....
As current starts to flow through these components (heat), they may be breaking down!

Coil winding's open/short, igniter's fail in sensor or driving signal to coils...
The manual provides measurement tests (resistance & voltage) to perform on coils and ignitier...

Thermal test... Back side of fingers (knuckle side) warm to touch or blistering hot...?

Hopefully it will only be a bad connection... Good luck!

I just tested my IC igniter and the readings were very high, incorrect. Too much resistance. Looks like a new igniter is in order.

Find "Loudhvx's" GM ignition replacement. It will work for twin and four cyclinder bikes as long as they have the mechanical ignition advancer.

Could that cause the no spark condition? I tested my Igniter and it read about 150ohms over on part, and about 500ohms above on another.

This company seems to carry most of the parts for the GM ignition replacement:

www.sherco-auto.com/primary_wire.htm
They have the wire, modules, & heatshrink tubing.

You'll need to get the Aluminum mounting plates, crimp on wire terminals and thermal(heatsink compound).Radio shack carries some heatsink compounds too. For the Aluminum plate, try your local hardware store for K & S metal supplies.

Or here: www.hobbylinc.com/htm/k+s/k+s3070.htm

One website for the 3/16" faston terminals: www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal...part=50343&SHOPZILLA

Wire Termination Insulation & Sizes

Terminal Insulation Color Wire Sizes
RED
22-18 gauge wire
BLUE
16-14 gauge wire
YELLOW
12-10 gauge wire

The ring terminal holes comes in many sizes, from #4 up to 1/2" in most cases, it's a matter of finding the tightest fitting hole to fit the fastener for the termination.

American Wire Gauge(AWG) is backwards to what many people think; that is 22 gauge is many times smaller than 10 gauge even though the number is bigger.

I have all the wiring, heat shrink, and terminals. I am an aviation maintenance student and have more that my share of aluminum so That's no problem. Those modules are 25 bucks each, wouldn't it make more sense to find a good used igniter?
