OK the main Reason for trying to put Amperage output and voltage into testing is that it is stated in the FSM for a 1981 KZ550 with the 3 phase alternator, that output is rated at 15 AMP 14 DCV @10,000RPM. The Single phase for similar bike was rated slightly higher for AMPs, 18.5, Still 14 DCV @10,000 RPM. So loading the system to check not just voltage but current output in AMPs is a direct reference to the output table in the FSM.
So if you have 12 DCV to a head lamp will it light up without having the AMPs required/ current flow, maybe dimly. So In order to supply the needed system current we Alternator AMPs measured as well as system current, then it becomes a simple math equation. To much system, will use more power than produced. So if you rewind a stator for more AMPs then hopefully, with all good connections and 0 or very little resistance along the current path, you now have enough current flow to power everything and some left to maintain the battery.

Oh yes I noticed the Red/ White wire from the R/R to the Y bullet connector is not fused from MA KAW. WTF? So as I sometimes do the circuit has been changed to include a protection device, No NOT a Condom.

I'm a little skeptical on the 1-phase versus 3-phase in the manual. The 550 Cl*mer manual says the unloaded ACV at 4000 rpm for the 1-phase is 50VAC, but you already showed us it's closer to the 75VAC they describe for the 3-phase (which is basically what I measured on my 3-phase).

I do recall checking some KZ (650 or 550?) 1-phase and getting about the same as expected in the 3-phase. Not sure why the 1000 would be different if in fact it is.

I find too many errors in the manuals (more so in the Cl*mer, but some in the FSM too) to take what's in print as gospel. That's why it's so enlightening to get actual data like you provided.

As we already know, the unloaded tests are not a great indicator of power output. Inductance is weird like that. :)

Yea nothing like a real world result.
I can remember times following through a FSM and being in the sheep flock and not the shepherd, usually they are great, but they also replace many pages, now on disc, all of the time. Spent hours trouble shooting a early Bendix ABS system, then found out the book I was using, FSM, was wrong and to wait for a FAX with the updated info!
So if the rain is ok tomorrow I can do a 1000 @ 1100 3 phase system with some more bad photos.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSo having had my cheap Amp meter going for a while now, I ran across this other Gadget as well. So I thought I would share and see if anyone has one, or has used one, can find a fault with using as a TEST equipment. I don't know about a permanent mounting, looks like it wouldn't be weather proof.
