Having trouble with Mikuni VM29 Smoothbores 07 Sep 2016 13:27 #741452

clear tube tested the vm28 pumpers and all carbs seem spot on somewhere between 3 and 4 mm below gasket surface. Valves were all set at the larger end of clearance tolerances on that cylinder. Is there anything about high compression pistons or the gpz cam that would change where I should have timing set? The plug looks sooty black not oily but I'm worried something went wrong with the rebuild.
.... just tried swapping coils and I'm getting the same results,
