Identifying carburetors (KZ900/900LTD)? was created by DK900
When I bought my 76 KZ900 many years ago from my friend said he changed the carbs. He said they were off a 76 900LTD. Now he’s not really sure. Are there numbers on these carbs or a way to identify exactly what they came from?

76 900 carbs are 26mm and have a side mount idle air screw, the kz1000 carbs have bottom mounted idle mix screws.
Your best bet is to post up a couple pics of said carbs

The stock Mikuni 26mm carbs on 1976 KZ900-B1 LTD -- see image below -- are fueled with dual fuel lines from the petcock which fuel lines are attached to two fuel inlets (i.e., fuel pipe joints).
The carb size may be measured as inside diameter of the main carb bore on the engine side, which is slightly over 26mm on a 26mm carb, and slightly over 28mm on a 28mm carb.
Am thinking that both the street model KZ900-A and LTD model KZ900-B used the same 26mm Mikuni carbs.
Good Fortune!

Think the 76kz900 to the 77 kz1000 are the same.
I have both bike and the carbs are the same.
The 78 kz1000 have the air screw on the bottom.
