just wondering if anyone here can help? I have a carb from a 1981/2 kz250 that came with the bike missing the float and needle valve. Just wondering how to identify what type this keihin crburetor is? I see lots online such as pwk etc. not sure how to identify this one. It is a cv carburetor abd has some numbers stamped on the body not sure if they help identify it in any particular way.
Just need to find a float and needle valve for it and it should wok with some cleaning.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the parts diagrams at Powersports Warehouse
www.powersportswarehouse.com/p/Kawasaki

Once you find your carb copy and paste the part # into the search box on top and then click on "where used.

If you are lucky you will find that other bikes used the same carb. I believe the k400 used two so you may end up lookig for kz 400 carbs on ebay just forfloats
Floats might take a while to find but the needle valve should nt be to much trouble

Hey swest, jetsrus couldn't help much but local bike shop actually had the needle valve in stock as it's used in 350's 440's etc, and he also helped me with a used float bowl and float as my float was missing and the overflow tube was broken off. He also eyeball set the float for me. Just got carb installed on bike, and hooked a battery up to it. No spark, I purchased a used ignition module onlinefrom a seller who assured me it was from a working bike. Just checked voltage to both sides of coil (using voltmeter connected to ground and positive lead to coil terminals individually, 11.08V). Next to replace plug, and solenoid as only way to crank motor is to short out solenoid with screwdriver and key on. All lights work but not the horn at button. Still more investigative work to be done. Not much compression however bike presumably sat indoors for a while by the fairly good appearance. Only 39277kms on it too so maybe rings stuck maybe once I get it to fire and run might lossen up?

The kill switch might be dirty. The rings may seat once it starts and runs for a while. Have you used starting fluid? The ignition switch could have some dried up crap in it too.
