Running on one cylinder
15 Apr 2013 14:46
So I have figured it i'm only running on one cylinder, its a twin,
I have observed fuel getting to the carburetor, am getting spark on that side, anybody got any ideas as to why,
After a short ride in the neighborhood, came back to check temperate of exhaust,.right side, about 175, left side, not even a hundred.
Any advice as to what to start checking for would be greatly appreciated.

Could start with compression test and assure valve clearances within specs.

Have you tried swapping over the plugs ? just because it's firing does not mean that the plug is good. I've bought new duff plugs before. Other than that you could look to see if any of the jets are blocked. I would start at the plug though, then the cap, lead, try swapping the coils over and if it's definitely sparking then try the fuel supply starting from the tank down, fuel line etc.

What y'all think, 175 after a mile long ride, at 25-30 sound good?

I think it's way to cold, seems like 300 or so would be right.
A lot depends on ambient air temp also.
